I'm retired and moved to Eugene seven years ago after a divorce. I was planning on paying off all my credit cards and getting rid of a garage full of my “stuff”. The idea was no possess less things and be able to travel. But, as they say, life happens. Two feral cats adopted me, they don't like to travel. I got involved in several non-profits while I was paying off my cards and disposing of my stuff. An animal shelter, the SMART reading program, a 's museum and Planetarium, summer reading program in the parks. I ended up pretty busy and attached to Eugene. I'm definitely a cat person. I've lived with one or more for most of my life. I'm a very mellow person, no conflict, no drama. I can accept people for who they are, I have no desire to change them. My “guru” in personal relationships is Carolyn Hax. I'm definitely a bookworm. Last few books I've read are “Incendiary”, “Only the Brave are Forgotten”, Florence Gordon, and “The Expanse”, a five part “Space Opera” series. I'm not a “couch potato”, but not an avid outdoorsman either. I enjoy an occasional hike, kayak trip, beach walk, tide pooling, cycling, and the like. Don't own a television or go to many movies either. Netflix and Hulu I like. A few like Big Bang Theory I watch weekly' I'm looking for people to spend low stress, no drama time with. I'm not looking for a relationship, but I'm not avoiding it either. Someone more jeans and tennis shoes rather than gowns and high heels, more NPR than Clear Channel Communications, and simple living rather than conspicuous consumption.
