Stealthing

It is about time!! All states should pass a law like this!! Too many women and gay men fall victims to this immoral practice ...... and especially women that live in Texas .... there is no recourse (although the law is suspended at this time by a Federal judge) if the "escaped seed" finds the "egg". Tragic consequences.

California just became the first state in the U.S. to outlaw "stealthing," a slang term for the nonconsensual removal of a condom during sex.

The law, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday, makes it a civil offense under state law for someone to remove a condom without their partner's consent.

"For a majority of the people, it's like, 'Yeah, it makes sense that this is immoral and it should be illegal,' " state Assembly member Cristina Garcia, who sponsored the legislation, told NPR.

"A lot of people told me, 'I can't believe it's not already illegal,' " she added.

The California State Legislature had approved the measure without opposition.

Wow. I thought "stealthing" meant more of being sneaky in other terms outside of sex.. I have not ad a lover use a condom in a long time. The advantages of being exclusive only to one without playing with anyone else there at the same time. Thanks for the info.. Monogamy has it's perks...
agree monogamy has its perks ... but so many have multiple partners .... condom use is more for disease protection .....so "stealthing" practice essentially may spread disease ...which I think the law is intending to penalize..

Ironic, since California also has a law that reduces the penalty for someone who knowingly exposes another to HIV. What a screwed up state.

The reduction of penalty for exposing someone to HIV doesn't make sense..... other than the original penalty didn't fit the crime .... ??

agreed ...so I wonder if the woman can sue to condom manufacturer? Will probably see disclaimers on the packaging - "not responsible for improper use"

With all the Gun Laws that California has, most in the nation,
Yet they continue to shoot themselves in the foot quite often!

I can't believe enough people do it that it required a law. Although doing anything without consent says a lot of the person
