THE FIRST, THE LAST AND THE BEST

Above is the half-nekkid, feminist punk band, The Slits. Inside is a half-nekkid me playing the guitar!

The first record I bought was Alice Cooper’s School’s Out, still a classic. On the same day my younger brother bought Sweet’s Little Willy. Despite being younger than me, he was taller than me but at least I had the bigger willy!

The last record I bought was Master KG’s Jerusalema; it’s very catchy. It went viral with many clips of people, especially African , dancing to the song.

The best record I bought was Primal Scream’s Screamadelica. I love having sex to this album and, for that reason alone, it beats Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures and Alabama 3’s La Peste to the top of my list.

What was the first, last and best record you bought?
What was the first, last and best gig you attended?

The first live gig I attended was Roxy Music. I was thirteen years old and it was the first, and probably last, time my boarding school allowed its pupils to attend a gig. The last gig I went to was Kennedy Caitlin, a Dolly Parton tribute act; well, I had to go because she sang at my wedding!

The best gig I attended was Joy Division. They were supporting the Buzzcocks; they blew them away and they blew me away. Ian Curtis, Joy Division’s lead singer, so didn’t want to go to America on tour that he killed himself. It was a bit more complicated than that - it involved two women - but that’s the story I like to tell!

What an interesting group there never heard of the Slits before. And I couldn't even say the first or last record I bought was. And the only concert I have ever been too is a George Strait concert as one of my friends took me with her.
I hope you both enjoy a great hump day..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

What was the first, last and best record you bought? - My first record was a single by Sweet (funny enough). It was called 'Co-Co'. I think my first album was Slade Alive?
What was the first, last and best gig you attended? - My first gig was Gary Glitter in 1973. The last gig was Carl Palmer's Band.
Best gig was The Jam in 1982 in St. Austell, Cornwall. I was in the front row!

That is Flea from Red Hot Chilly Peppers I believe?

I have some albums and singles by Alice Cooper, Slits, Roxy Music, Joy Division, Primal Scream in my collection.

The first record I ever bought was a 45. It was Yesterday, by the Beatles. I think the flipside was Act Naturally. Geez, I was quite young.

First touring band I saw was Black Sabbath in 1971. (I saw Alice Cooper a bit later - my second show.)

blog on!

I can't remember the first record I bought but it was probably The Beatles. And I can't remember the last record I bought either. It might have been La Traviata sung by Teresa Stratas. Some critics don't rate her all that highly but I know that the meaning of life resides between her thighs.

My claim to fame is seeing Hall and Oates just before they went big time, in a seedy little bar near the University of Delaware.

Happy HNW.

The Jam were also very good live. I was gutted when they split but I guess Paul Weller had to go it alone.

A Bob Hope show sounds great. He was a genius at comedy.

I never saw Black Sabbath but they had a reputation for being good to see live.

That's a good claim to fame. I saw Human League in their very early experimental days before they became big and slick.

Though not a massive rock fan, I do like AC/DC.
