And the winner of the Douche Bag of the Week Award goes to....

Jerry Wingo!

Congratulations, Jerry, for passing me in your giant black truck on Alba Highway doing about 80 mph with your name, business, and phone number plastered all over that thing!!

Oh.... Wait.... What's that??? You have to turn now, a quarter of a mile down the road from where you passed me at???

Even better!

Your reckless passing inadvertently threw a stone up behind you, hitting my windshield, knocking out a huge hunk of the glass.

Fantastic!

You've accomplished a nearly impossible feat, you careless fucktard....

I now have a name and phone number to turn in for my insurance claim.

Cheers!

In fairness, it might not have been ol’ Jer driving it. Butt, the good news for him is that, if it wasn’t, one of the d-bags who works for him “earned” the company a nice reward - Happy T’giving and Merry [ we’re not saying this, yet, this year ], dumbass!

One customer of a former employer brought a trailer back after about a year, claiming warranty. The thing, which should’ve last the better part of 10 years, in a industry where equipment is normally used and abused, was pretty-much trashed. When the company said it wasn’t warrantable damage, he said “it was the drivers I’ve had.” Yeah, well, maybe you need to hire better drivers …

But, in reality, when your name is a-lot-too-close to “Jerry Mungo”, should we really expect much more from such a person?

Hopefully the claim and repair processes aren’t too painful. And then we can get on to finding out who next week’s douche bag will be … ?

(I’m glad I don’t live close enough to be in the running?)
Better drivers.... How about actually making sure your stuff is being taken care of? Hold them accountable. People always want to turn a blind eye to stuff and then blame everything on someone else.

I had to google Jerry Mungo.... LOL

if the rock came up off the road and not off the truck..depending on your local laws..it could be ruled road hazard and not claimable versus non-securement of load if it fell off which in most states is claimable...keep us posted how that shakes out for you?
The rock did come up off the road. They are covering it but I do still have to pay my deductible.

That's an unlucky break. My deductible on a busted windshield is $250, which is the price of replacement
*UGH * I'm rolling the dice and saving $80 a year? 🤔 hmmm... maybe I gotta reconsider my math *
Ya think your company will chase him down?
My deductible is the same but my windshield costs way more than that..... I turned in all the info and she was eager to get it from me over the phone. Whether or not they pursue it, I'm not sure what will happen. I would think they would want to recoup that cost from him!

I would not only talk to the insurance company, but also possibly the local police, sheriff's dept or highway patrol that could be responsible for traffic tickets in that area. Make them aware of his driving habits and maybe they can convince him to drive in a more responsible manner.
I hadn't thought about contacting law enforcement about it.... That's not a bad idea. I'm fairly certain this truck has passed me before but it was before time change so it was still fairly dark out and I didn't notice any advertising on his doors. Had the rock not hit my windshield, I may not have even noticed it this time to be honest but he does need to be stopped.

People like that are selfish and lack respect for others. Karma is a bitch though and I truly believe stuff like this comes back to them three-fold. I've seen it.

I turned it in to my insurance today, I need to get my windshield replaced. It's a huge hassle... Super expensive because there are sensors in my windshield and it requires a 4 hour calibration at the replacement place. I've had to do this once before, it's a fucking pain in the ass.

It would help a ton if he wasn't doing 85 in a 55.... I was doing 65 and he flew past me like I was standing still. His truck literally did not fit on the road, his mirrors extended into the oncoming lane, no exaggeration. This is just a hazzard to the world at large.
