Fill in the Blank

Within a completely different blog-space, where we wear coats and ties, I write a weekly offering called " Fill in the Blank".
With a tip-o'-the-hat toward Mark Goodson and Bill Todman ( a pair of men that have occupied the attention of countless housewives and third-shift teamsters, etc. from the early-sixties through the mid-seventies ) -- an homage to a daytime television show known as " Match Game ".

When I watched it, as a prepubescent, Gene Rayburn was the host and, dare I say, a model for 20th Century humor. I didn't get all the jokes, nor did I understand the inbetweens he and Betty White shared... but I was enthralled by the silly answers the questions posed.

So, very recently, I discovered that Heated Affairs is a form of " match game ".

I always knew that, but now more than ever... the " spark " offerings of making a match are the least flammable I have experienced here in decades. There used be a community here. Where did it go?

So anyway... I'll throw out a fill-in-the-blank y' and again receive a form of litmus test regarding many-if-not-most of the members in THIS forum.

Sweet, my answer would be much the same as yours.

 Honest answer is usually one of these: "I'm bored", "I'm lonely and just want someone to chat with" or "I'm procrastinating the work I should be doing and these blogs are entertaining."

I suppose like the others, my hope springs eternal of finding a good play partner and making a deeper connection. Often I have settled for simply making a chat friend or two.

I don't watch anything on television any longer. Don't even own one.
