Have you ever truly loved someone?
So much so that you ache for them when they are gone? When they are the first thing you think of when you wake and the last thing you think of before you fall asleep? When you interact with people and think "my guy says that word the same way." Or where you are content with the silence because words aren't needed? But at the same time, you can talk until the morning? When you can't wait to talk to them to just hear their voice? When you have seen them at their worst and their best and they seen you the same; yet they wouldn't take you any other way?
Now, be in love with this person for years. To the same extent. Still wanting to be with them every day. To hear their voice.
Now break up..............
I believe that a broken heart is one of the worst things a person can go through. Assuming of course, that there is a great deal of love between the two people.
The question is, at this point, does a broken heart ever heal? Do you ever really get over the other person?
Some people say that yes, time heals all wounds including a broken heart.
I disagree.
I've been that person I described at the top of my blog. I've had the overwhelming feeling of being totally complete.
Sept 2009, I/We broke my heart. I attempted to fix it and move on. I thought I had, until I saw him again in July 2010 and we decided to give it another go shortly after that. Only to have my heart broken again.
I thought that I was good. I thought that I had moved on and was good to start again. But the moment I spent a bit of time with him again, I realized that even though I was mostly healed, he still had a piece of my heart. It's almost like putting a broken glass back together. You search for all the pieces, glue them back together one by one, but there is one piece that you can't find.
That glass is never the same. It will always be missing that piece.
So, when that glass gets shattered again, it's that much more difficult to heal it. On top of that, you are now missing two pieces and that glass will never be the same.
Does time heal all wounds? No. Time eases the pain, but the wounds are always there in the background.
