take me part 450...hopefully edited

"Hello Gaia, I'm assuming you brought here since I was planning sleeping."

"I did, and you are sleeping. This is a dream that is not a dream." I was confused. She laughed. "You're a dragon and they have many abilities that you haven't discovered yet. You will and Dreka will help you with that, and Aisha, but that's not why I brought you here. I'm curious why you let Rasmus live." We started walking.

"I don't like killing, Gaia."

"Yet you have, many times." I nodded.

"I didn't say I wouldn't, I said I didn't like it. I'll do whatever I have do keep my family, and friends safe. My sense was that he was fine with not continuing. what they intended do. I may be wrong and if so I pray that I end them first. There's too much that needs to be done in too many places. I wanted to avoid another if I ccould and see if they would accept a second chance. Sara wants that." She was quiet while we walked.

"Do you have plans for them?"

"I have a sense, but I haven't discussed them with the girls. Ingrid is occupied with trying to regain some function in her arm, and move easier. She'll face a long year of surgeries an rehab. We're thinking how best to handle that with Rasmus because having him involved is good for her, and him as well. I don't like the idea of leaving them alone together in Oslo, but she needs the care. I don't trust any of them and I have no idea how involved Marnine is. Rasmus is an excellent organizer, it seems, even though none of it worked out but that wasn't because of him. We have those buildings in the town by Annie's that need to be managed during renovation and then reviewing applications for people to move in, and also to open shops. It'll be a lot of work and I thought he would be very good at it, and it'd be something he could do while his leg heals. I need to talk with everyone. It's a ball I'm not ready to throw in the air yet."

"You have the instincts of a good leader, young dragon. It was a wonderful binding, and feast. I'm sure people were very thankful because typically it's long on the ceremony, and short on the feast, you turned that on it's head while retaining the tradition."

"And no one died."

"And no one died, very true. It's not an easy transition for any of you, especially you, since they are drawing upon your strength. It's going to be busy the next month, juggling your balls in the air, but you have done fine so far. Your family is starting to seek there own places with some staying in Colorado and some in Iceland, and then you have Japan and Norway. How are you with that, my young friend?" I was quiet.

"I don't like it, but I understand it, and it's necessary. Thank you for having Joseph help with the mist, I think I will be rolling a lot." She laughed and said I was I a quick study. "People live their lives and there are many places our family needs to be. It's not realistic to think that we would all live together in Norway, or anywhere else for that matter. It's life."

"It is, and each of those locations, and others, are important for the future of all of you just like where you are with Irina was important for now. Your people journeyed long distances, in many directions, with many obstacles, yet they were all represented over the last week to be at the binding ceremony. You are right to focus on the present, because of all the damage, and wrong thinking, done by Marnine needs to be undone, but don't lose sight of the future. It's very easy to become myopic in positions of power. It's also very easy to succumb to the lure of power. It's why I selected Annie and all of you to be where are you, especially Annie. You are never alone, Danael, remember that, no matter how alone you feel."

I nodded and it went black. I woke before dawn and felt a lot better. The girls were lying entwined with each other, as usual, and breathing deeply as I gently got out of bed. I grabbed my clothes and went into the bathroom. No one was awake as I walked to the back door, put my boots on and grabbed my jacket, gloves and hat, and headed to the main house. It had snowed, and was frigid, but I liked that. I walked into the kitchen and the barn crew was already there, Jakob was good at his job. We said hello and I said hi to the kitchen staff as i went upstairs. Airi was seated by the door.

"You got the graveyard shift." She smiled, and nodded, as she hugged me.

"Are you feeling better, dragon?" I nodded and told I had slept well and felt fine. I grabbed Rasmus' clothes and walked in. I turned on the light and woke him up. I put his clothes on the bed.

"Get ready and knock, Airi will bring you downstairs." I walked out. I was not interested in being his friend. I was still wondering if I had made the right decision to keep him alive as I went into the kitchen. They made room for and I had a large glass of milk and my plate was being filled with, eggs, potato's, bacon and rye toast.

"Thank you. I'm helping you guys." They all stared at me. "I've been working for as long as I can remember. I can do a lot of different things, but I am particularly good at mucking out stalls, and fighting off puppies." They all started laughing as we ate our breakfast. Rasmus and Airi came in as we were getting ready to leave. They sat down and Airi looked at him as she was given the same as I got. "Not you Rasmus, you are working in the kitchen, good luck. Do what they tell you and you'll be fine. You can peel and chop a lot while seated. You eat when they eat. We ate first because we're working in the barn, and it's cold. We'll check on you later."

"I've never done this." They'll show what to do, just attention and you'll be fine. Don't cut a finger off because the knives are sharp." I said bye Airi who smiled with a full mouth as her replacement sat done. They knew what they were doing. I headed the barn and Jakob handed a manure fork and pointed the cart as everyone burst out laughing.

I like it that Daniel works with all the people, there is nothing wrong with mucking out animal stalls I have done it and have worked with people in different levels of society and think everyone should do it it gives you a good grounding in the realities of life for all people.

Everyone contributes to everyone else's well being.
