Deny and Deflect

I have been dating black men for much of my life—decades. But one thing is sure, they have not changed much.

I had some interesting conversations and one social revelation in the last weeks that do not give much hope.

Now I love my black brothers. I marched for Civil Rights, I stood on the sidelines while you married other women because I was not good enough and stood up for you most of the time. Lord knows I have answered too many prison calls and paid too many car notes for you. I testified at your custody hearings and gave you jobs you did not deserve just to prove a point. I took risks. You have left me hanging.

But you just flat out have lost with you mush brained thinking.

Maybe it is because I am getting older. Maybe it is music. Maybe I was just plain stupid and drank the Koolaid.

But recently, every conversation must go back what you didn’t do, what you think I did and how you could never be responsible.

Get off it. I am tired of black men demeaning women. Derrick Jaxn needs a special place in hell for making millions while doing it. Just because he has looks and smooth voice does not mean he deserves anyone else’s . Period. Rot in hell.

The rest of you lesser men: You need work harder. You need look in the mirror and ask what you can do for the world; not what it can do for you. You younger men are especially rude. Racism has been going on in this country and the world long before you came along. Many people have paved the path for you have education, housing, and equal employment rights you enjoy today. But it is not enough for you and you are ungrateful and worst of all ignorant of these facts.

To that I say, get your ass out in the street and make the change you want. Don’t listen to cowards like football players, artists, actors and rich black people who could care less about you. They have theirs.

Respect the people that came before you and know all history; not just yours. If you cannot list Civil Rights leaders and what they have done for you, you are failing your generation. Understand the past. It is easy complain about what you see but understand why it is like it is. Be fair in your assessment.

Most of all respect women. We brought you into this world and we can take you out. The next time you want to deny, deflect, or tell us we are trippin, shut up! We are only reacting to your bad behavior. Any woman deserves respect, despite her race or background. No one wants to be used. Nor should they be.

There was a young black man on here who said some very extreme things about me. They were not based in fact and only showed his bias, ignorance, and racism. It goes both ways. He attacked me for my age and race only because I do not like to date overweight men. Where does the responsibility lie? He is overweight. Period. So, for that and my dislike for fat men, I should be called names and publicly humiliated? Therefore, we cannot meet in the middle of racist candor because some young man cannot be real about how he looks and accept that (for me) that is not acceptable? I call BS. I could have said something about his bad looks and crazy hair, but I did not. I was polite and honest. Something you cannot be these days because everyone jumps off the crazy cliff right away.

To that young man I say: Rest in peace. I hope your life is amazing. Mine already is and will continue to be without you in it. Go do great things. But do them with peace and love not hate and anger.
