for some reason, my IM is constantly reading peoples messages before I have even clicked on them. just clearing the air for the ones it says "read" under because I have in fact, not read them myself

 Clear your cookies and browsing history. Then completely log out of Heated Affairs and then log back in. That will resolve a lot of your problems
