Stolen

That sounds intriguing enough, doesn’t it? Like stolen kisses, or glances. But no, this isn’t that kind of a post.

My<b> phone </font></b>was stolen yesterday. It had everything on it…not bank or credit info, but everything personal. EVERYTHING! My contacts, my photos, my recordings [Milf & Gilf podcasts], my emails, my writings, my thoughts…my very personal thoughts and writings, Gone! Poof! Writings that I used to write my blogposts with. Writings that held info for my social media postings for my online business.

I know, I know…it should have been locked, with a passcode, but I didn’t have that on my<b> phone. </font></b>That was my bad! I will now, however!!

I think it was an employee at the thrift store I was at. We could track it until its last pinged location…30 minutes away, right after I got home, right at the time of a shift change. It was at the store when we first started tracking it from the hub’s<b> phone </font></b>and at about 6:07 we watched it start moving. Then the locater app got turned off.

I have insurance on the<b> phone. </font></b>A new one is on its way; after $9 deductible.

It just galls me that people would even think to steal like that. Never would I ever think to do that to another person! The thought makes me sick to my stomach!

It galls me to think that someone out there had access to know everything about me; my private thoughts, my life…my sordid, sexy life. Someone was having some titillating reading during their break!! We wiped the<b> phone </font></b>remotely once I got home from the<b> phone </font></b>store. My , the millennial, scolded me for not having a passcode…okay, I deserved that one. I was careless. Did I want to be “outed” like that? I mean, secretly, did I? No, if I’m going to be open about my lifestyle choice, I want it to be on my terms, not by some random twat-face thief! Okay, maybe I need to edit myself there.

It’s just that…

I kinda dislike people intensely right now. This might get banned if I used the h- word.

I’ll get over it. Life goes on.

A nurse who came to see another tenant where I live used the bathroom in the hall. It's for whatever visitors and residents. She put her bag with two phones in it and medical equipment on the bench near the elevator. The bag and everything in it was taken.

Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

Hi Brownie, thanks so much for stopping by and for your understanding words. I agree with your sentiments; we are the most dangerous of creatures at times. Yesterday was one of those times, I'm afraid.
Doesn't it make you wonder, what the hell are they gonna do with medical equipment??

Technology is a two edged sword. It can do a lot of good for you and also cause you a lot of problems. Hope you get to carry on with your life without too much trouble

Please don't let me be misunderstood.

That is really sad to hear, especially when so much of your personal info & creative work was part of that. It's as if somebody ripped part of your skin off such is the unwanted feeling of something so close to you being taken away like that. Life is tough that we all know but that does hurt no doubt, I know most other folks would be devastated to say the least. Real shame I do hope you manage to recover your phone somehow.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, it totally does feel like they ripped a part of my skin off; more like my right arm than the skin, however! And there's the feeling of utter embarrassment at someone reading my most intimate words. Thanks again! I doubt I'll get the phone back. I have insurance, so I should be okay. I'll be changing passwords though.

Yes, there are some evil cretins out there. It's a pain having to type a pass code on your phone every time you use it but it's worth it in the long run.

Ya know, we talked about it tonight at dinner...all three guys I was with utilize passcodes on their phones. But my son's friend offered that his mom doesn't have a code on her phone...my son just looked at me and said "just because someone else does it doesn't make it right!' lol!

Its definitely a violation and gives people a creepy feel. Its like....do they know you now, will they look for you.....will they make eye contact or heaven forbid...a flirt. You feel s if they see you and you havent a clue about them. NOT a good feel.

Its interesting you say that...secretly did you wanna be outed in such a manner. I have had the question too about a long time relationship that ended because of disclosure. The dynamics between us now have def changed.....and i wonder if that 'accidental' disclosure was truly accidental.

I dont think we will get our answers....ever ( sigh ) ~~

bustinout20202 replies on 7/18/2021 6:46 pm:
You're right Jajo! I feel violated! Like a break-in. And all that you wrote are exactly the thoughts I had as I drove home [at 90 mph!] Like, "They KNOW me! And they know who I am, what I look like...and those f**kers probably lied to my face when I asked if anyone had turned a phone in. I won't be hitting that store for vintage finds anytime soon! That pisses me off too because they had some pretty decent stuff there!

re: disclosure - there are times when I want to shout it from the rooftops; I hate hiding it from my friends, especially. But I think it would so change the dynamic of our friendship dramatically that I just don't want to risk it. So I totally understand what you went through. Thanks so much for your words. It's nice to have people around that understand.

Oooohhh, that sucks. Testicular cancer be damned! My phone is in my pants pocket 99% of the time.

STRANGE how the site bugs changed that deductible from $150 to $9!

bustinout20202 replies on 7/18/2021 6:36 pm:
Earlier the site bugs had it at 0 deductible [ I wish!] so I went and changed it to $149 after I had already copied it into the comment. Thus we still lose the numbers and end up with $9.

That just F'n sucks! I work at Costco and I have found lots of folks phone's, purses, billfolds, and other personal stuff in shopping carts. I never opened them or even turned a phone on...just took it to the HR folks and had them lock them in the vault for owners to collect. I recon I am of a dying breed? But most cowboys are honest and a dyin breed!

Doc, its good to know that there are some good'uns left in the world!
I would have thought that's what could have happened in this case...but no! Low-lifers are everywhere! The good news is I had insurance on the phone. The new one arrived and I'm almost normal!
