 It's a weird feeling for artists...you don't want to take money because you feel like your selling out but if it wasn't for "selling out" we wouldn't have so many beautiful pieces of art...The Sistene Chapel, arguably one of the most referenced works of art , was painted under commission of Pope Julius II. Many of "the greats" would do commission work doing some very beautiful portraits so that they could pursue painting their own works in between...and many others had patrons who paid them to do nothing but create their own art. To me, anyway, there's no greater compliment than somebody wanting to pay for something you created...I mean a lot of people can pay you lip service and say they like it or enjoy it but being willing to put out money they worked for to own something you created I think says it all, yaknowwhatImean.
