Aside from the photos that are a dead giveaway -- text content often marks a fake. There's a complete absence of personal detail and there is often odd idiom and grammar. Certain phrases repeat. "looking for a soulmate," "God-fearing," etc.

Zero pic, relationship status not revealed, very little profile or activity. Yes lots of fakes, liars and scammers. I get romance scams from other continents. I also get hit on by younger men, they are for real, just too young for me.

Its true the majority of profiles are fake. Like you said, search new matches, or who's online. I do every time I sign on, cause I like looking at all the pretty pictures, and often see pics of the same woman on multiple diff profiles scattered across the country.

It seems the site has now devolved into a Columbian Cam Girl site. The 'members activity' section is now ONLY filled with 'broadcasting' alerts. ;/ 99% of the girls camming are from columbia, regardless of where there fake profile says they are from. I have one supposedly local, but the cam room she uses is also used by another girl from NJ. Exact same room.

Its easy to spot the fakes, cant believe someone would fall for it.

If you get a flirt from a standard member it is a BOT. Standard members can not send flirts on Heated Affairs.

I get the feeling from what I've heard that there a lot more "fake women" profiles than fake men. I usually don't examine one closely unless I recieve an email that's questionable. Then it's about grammar, their pictures, not so much for the way they look but like you said what's in the background. Probably not on this site, but other "dating" sites, I especially try to recognize what's in the background on pictures, tshirt from a local place? There's always clues., if the initial email "I would like to get to know you better" doesn't give it away. And then if there's any question, I ask them where the picture was taken. I know people travel, even overseas, but if you can't name a local favorite bar or restaurant, chances are you're not from this area and don't live here.

    Quoting  :

Sometimes they don't even bother trying to disguise it. Andrew the infamous Gay man with 100 variations of the same face pic and 100 different locations but always says "Hi Mate how are you?" or something like that, is one example. I've reported him 10X but he's like a Cockroach-indestructible.

The ones looking for a soulmate. Occasionally I would reply to one. Turns out I was their soulmate! What are the odds?

They are usually the same age, 34.

On their first message, they tell you their life story. Three of them had nearly identical life stories. Maybe there is a school for scammers online somewhere. They are getting bad advice.

The ones claiming to be born and raised in the US, but use awkward and odd English. Must be the school system?

well there are so many fake profiles on the site both male and female , but definitely the ratio is higher with female profiles . First you have the fluffer profiles , they are simply here to get you to chat elsewhere , and that means a paid site . Which quite a few of these are actually owned by Heated Affairs's parent companies , which could be why reporting them does squat to stop them .

Then of course when it comes to female fake profiles ....I have to admit since my return have noticed a similar thread . Quite a few of these fake profiles , have other true profiles . They have made the fake profile so they attract certain men , who weren't attracted to their original profiles . Those ones are bit easier to notice in the chat areas because they seem to know things about people they are supposedly now just meeting .

Now I have been a member on and off since 2005 , and if and when I leave I shut down my account , when I return I simply open a new one as I always lose any and all passwords . I always let people know exactly who I am , and how they might have known me before .
