You know you're old when....

You know you're old when.... You get new glasses on Tuesday and you're still trying get used the bifocals on Thursday. Egads! This getting thing is a fucking bitch! |

Today was a much better day. I had a really difficult time adjusting to the new prescription, the up close part changed quite a bit.... Probably for not wearing my glasses like I was supposed to because of the masks.

I've been prescribed new eye-drops by my doc. They get sore when I wake up in the mornings. At least he didn't refer me to the eye clinic as I thought he would have. Yes, getting old sucks

It's all down hill from 50 suck when your looking for a tool in the tool box and you have to put any glasses on just to read the size of a socket or drill bit.

Gotta train the eyes too move and NOT move the head  It took about a week too get use to Trifocals

Fuck glasses... I'm making lasagna tonight.. I'll feed you. I guess I'll wait... ... for a while... 🍷🍷😎❗❗ Glasses are overrated, when you're naked in a dark room, after stuffing your face with a great meal. We'd wait for stuff to settle. Wanna watch anything on Netflix? 🤔

It most definitely IS a bitch! I'm still trying to adjust to my eyesight after having cataract surgery...2 years ago. Right now I'm trying to adjust to walking again...after having knee replacement surgery last week. I'm too old for this shit. And there's more to go...

Oh my.... LOL I get really bad headaches when I don't wear mine, so I wear them. It's a challenge with the whole mask thing, since we are still mandated to wear masks here, but it is what it is.

I've tried the one close/ one far contacts, didn't care for that. Now I wear 1 contact for far and I can easily see near and far.

Good for you! I never needed them until I turned 43... It's all gone downhill since. LOL

I thought my world was ending at 40 when I got bifocals and now I have triple bifocals. I got them at 57 and it took me a week to get used to those.

Ok.... That's it! I've decided, I'm not going to get older.

I put on new progressives after wearing my old non-progressive glasses all day and had to take them off 15 minutes later as they were making me nauseous. I put the progressives on the next morning and had nary a problem after that. i have not had lined bifocals, so do not know about them. I am at this point taking my glasses off to read (I am quite near sighted) as the progressive power needs to be increased. I do have to hold the material close. Somehow my arms become too short and then a new pair of optical glasses make them normal once again.

Guinness me, I tried bi-focals, they just made me feel dizzy. That was an expensive mistake. Have you heard tried these new variable focus readers you can buy? I think you can adjust the lens strength to suit, different for each eye. I'm thinking of trying them, but I'd like to hear from someone who has first. At the moment though, I just use the inexpensive readers, I got fed up buying expensive specs and losing them or sitting on them!
