My feeling and prayers go out for your son. Hopefully after grieving and healing some he can get another best friend. I do understand the love of pets. I lost a dog and cried my eyes out as I buried him. Prayers to you also my friend as you think of your son and not being able to be with him.

Well, that's sad 😔... So sorry for your son's loss. 🌹 I used to have tropical fish, and one in particular catfish that I was fond of and he of me. But it was a real bitch getting the leash around his gills. And when I did – he didn't want to go anywhere — he just, sorta flopped around a bit. 😶❗ ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

My condolences, that is the hard part about pets, their short life span. They give us so much, think my 3 cats and 1 dog kept me sane during the lockdowns.

My dog passed away in May this year. I had her for 13yrs. Got her as a rescue when she was 6 months old. Still remember her lively personality. Still get teared up when I talk about my dog. I got really depressed after she died, but doing much better now. My friends tell me to get another dog. I have been looking, but I don't think I'm ready yet. I can relate...not that easy to get over it. All your son can do is take his time to heal...and talk about it. Just like we do when it's a loved one that passes.

I feel for all of you. The loss of a well loved pet is tough. I'd have a very rough time if we lost our dog or cat.

My heart goes out. I understand. After 16 years I laid my friend to rest. It’s a wound that heals over time, but there will always be a scar. I’m afraid I’m tearing up now. Have a great day! 💋 Staci

Oh my stars, please let your son know how very sorry I am that he lost Max. I lean on my dogs far more than I should. I had an incredible dog help me raise the 4 children. Her death from cancer devastated me. If I hurt mentally or physically I always seek my animals first. I refused to cry the other day from the pain until I had my setter in my lap. With her I can finally relax and she absorbs my pain. A new pet cannot replace Max. However Max would want your son happy. When he feels he can cope there is a furry friend out there waiting for him.

So sorry to hear of your loss to me a pet is as much a part of the family as any human and often better behaved. I have pictures on the wall of most of the furry friends I have ever known. xoxo

Yeah it is tough. I lost my little buddy 'Max', an 18 year old Miniature Schnauzer in th emiddle of 2019. Later that Year I lost 'Tinker' my 10 year old reverse brindle German Boxer. She had hip displasia so bad and couldn't move any more. I couldn't bear to see her in pain anymore. I had one of ht epistols cleaned and was going to put her down one day. I just couldn't do it. I kept on fighting back and forth in my mind when to do it. Later in the day, I had her laying where she liked to lay and watch wildlife by the patio doors, I walked out to sooth her.... She had passed on. I was torn not only from losing her but also had a slight relief that she had passed on her own, silently. Losing both within 3 or 4 months was over the top. My new dog just hasn't filled the place in my heart that the other two did for so long. 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕓𝕖𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕪𝕠𝕦

Aww, sorry to hear on the loss of a beloved furbaby. It sucks, no matter whom the pet belonged to, and hurts just a bit more when you've had a little bit of attachment to it... Anyway, How have your pets, man and women's best friends, helped you through trying times? They have all been a "silent counselor" for me, when I was going through those rough teen and young adult years. Even the fish I owned, to me, seemed to sympathize. Well okay... maybe it was those "funny cigarettes" I was smoking with my friends back then- don't judge. Do you own pets at a l l? We have a cat, and did have a Pembroke Corgi, but she went to Summerland almost two years ago. Wow- has it been that long? Still have the cat. If you do, can you relate to the loss of saying Goodbye and how painful it is when losing a best friend? One with 4 legs and not two? Oh yeah, it hurts. That's true with anyone who forms an emotional attachment to an animal, be it fish, rodent, canine, feline, equine, etc. Cats and dogs, to me, seem to be more... sentient beings. They appear able to convey their emotions back towards you, in the form of purrs, rolling over for tummy rubs, playful growls and yips, licks on your face, rubbing against you. There are many more, but you get the idea. It's because of these animal capabilities, combined with my enhanced empathy, made it hard for me to continue the career path as a vet assistant. It's hard to describe to someone in a way that most could understand, unless you've been there, with your animal at the vet, and held its head during The Last Goodbye... Okay, not going to go into detail, as it will make me ugly cry. "Be who you are and say what you feel. Those who matter won't mind, and those who mind won't matter." ~ Dr. Seuss.
