I have worked all sort of shifts I once worked over 30 hours straight going to France to rescue a coach. I have done split shifts as well and at the time we got paid for the down time in the middle of the day! the shift I hated most was a 2PM start, start too early to do much in the morning and finish too late to get in the pub in the evening. xoxo

There are advantages to working a split shift that I enjoyed, back in the day.
Daytime shopping, quiet drives to work, etc.
My NEW personal favorite is working from home.
Keep on trucking! 👍 😊 ❗❗

Hi Joy !
I worked night shift for many years hard to sleep during the day. I like day shift the best!

I work split / rotating shifts. Certain shifts make so there is no time for yourself or anything else. They really do suck.

I always hated split and swing shifts and have always preferred midnights.

Trabajo de día en un solo turno, pero ya estoy en edad de retirarme ¿Qué haré con mi tiempo libre? Aún no lo sé... necesitaré alguien que ocupe mis días... ja, ja

I work those split shifts on the weekend, the rest of the week are late afternoon and evening shifts. Love those memes my sexy friend!

Funny women are incredibly sexy!

How funny I wrote about night versus day
I have worked both days and nights, split shifts as well as double shifts.
I prefer night shifts. I work great at night!

I've never worked split shifts but I have worked full time on a night shift while trying to still run a online business during the mornings and being a full time caretaker. That lasted 2 years before I collapsed from exhaustion and then faced the loss of three pets with a months span. I realized I couldn't do it all so the night shift went away. I took a financial hit at first but my body recovered and my online business picked up to cover the slack. Go figure, right?
I hope you find a balance and some much needed nookie

My name is MrWrong and I approved this comment

Ms. author51,

"1.Have you ever worked split shifts?

2.Have you worked both days and nights in the same 24 hour period with just enough hours for dinner and sleep in between?

3.Which shift do you prefer? Day shift or the Night Shift?"

1. Yes I have, more times than I cared to. But hey, a paycheck is a paycheck.

2. Yep, that use to be a norm for me when I worked two different jobs.

3. NIGHT SHIFT all the way. I am a night person any way so I love the shift.

Back when I first started working I would work one job in the morning and a different job in the evening, both at the same place. They both had different pay scales, one was none tipped and the other was tipped.

Then when I joined the service, it was not uncommon for my rate to work 12 to 16 hours a day. But you would only do that 15 days a month, so the time off was great.

Now I only work the night shift and I like it. It does make it hard to find a date though.

I've been working split shifts for over two years now, and to ME it's beautiful.

I get up EARLY in the morning, put my shit into one bag, take off four a couple of hours, come home, do whatever I feel for five o six hours, and take off for another couple of hours.

Yeah, a total of four hours daily, twenty hours a work-week, on average. Not much, but between my SSI and my wife's income, we get by well enough.

Some guys have ALL the luck, I suppose!

No time no time no time
No time for a summer friend
Never experienced night work till I started snow plowing with a friend we work on clearing parking lots till the sun comes up.
No one around just radio blasting out rock.
You watched the road way next to you only seeing a few trucks maybe cops
As the later it get more and more cars passed buy
Then it's over, time to go to bed. 8 hours driving in circles slamming snow into corners.
I miss that job don't miss that truck never knew what was going to break next. Plow pin fell out blow blade turn the wrong way. Hole in the oil pan that was not a pretty sight. Have to get out very tow hours fill the hydraulic pump with oil . At lest to he heat worked yet we drive with the windows open
Then I took the truck home and clean it out what a garbage bag full I got.

For the past 29 years I have worked this weird shift. 5 pm until 1ish. It has played hell with my former married life and my single life today.

Ma'am... I missed a shift because I didn't know what day it was : )
