My Brand Of Chatterbox A Poem
My Brand Of Chatterbox A Poem I can be a chatterbox I can talk quite a lot. I can talk about This and that Some of it may Make sense Some of it may Seem like a rant. Some of it follows In a straight line. Some of it goes off On a tangent Some even seem Like a roller coaster ride. People get used to This quality about me Or they dismiss me entirely. What should I do When the latter happens? Should I be depressed That I have been Judged harshly? Should I realize That I not Everyone's cup of tea? The saying You can't please everybody Is correct Wouldn't you agree? But still it stings Something about me Did not pass muster I should say Thank my lucky stars That someone so judgemental Was like the trash Taking itself out. I may have prattled on But that is my nature My mind wants To make sense of things It's curious and open. Would that I were closed And had not a curious bone? How could I live with myself? Too many thoughts Bottled up It's true I could save them Write them down If need be But I like the exchange Of ideas that chatting And conversations engender And bring about. Yes I a chatterbox But I also listen too My compassion and empathy Can be considered Top notch I not just saying this I feel for other people Caring about others Is instinctive. Do you know When I silent? Perhaps when you are speaking And I trying to absorb What you are saying. But if silence grows Between us That is what Can be worrisome. An awkward silence I have been known To plug it up With inane chatter. There are different Kinds of chatterboxes. The know-it-alls, The knowledge snobs Pretentious to a fault. That is not me I know my knowledge Is never and ever Will be complete. Even an education From the ivy league. Does not make one An expert in all things. Humility and being humble Along with candor And an open mind Are what my brand Of Chatterbox contains. Now to employ A successful marketing scheme. Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely |

I tend not to start up the chat. That's not really how it works. Waiting's just a matter of fact. I am missing out on the perks.

Your poem describes me quite well, I usually warn a woman that if she is interested, and if I am taing to much and she wants to shut me up, just grab me & kiss me, and I will !
