May have to make a trip to the grocery store...

I ran out of M&M's and nuts!

I wonder if they will have any TP?

I haven't been over there in about weeks now.

I usually go late at night so the women don't chase me around the store....

But now they close early. I was so glad when they started the 24 hour operation years ago.

I wonder if people have been hoarding M&M's or nuts?

I might replenish my supply of spaghetti sauce too if there is any left.

I generally keep my pantry pretty well stocked with the stuff in cans, jars and boxes and plenty of stuff in the freezer out in the garage and the one in the refrigerator is always stuffed... Ice cream gets to damn hard in the deep freeze! But I don't have any ice cream left. Haven't been wanting it lately but Summer is coming!

One thing nice about living in a small town is there haven't been lines at the grocery store...that I've heard of anyways. Unless you count the lines at the cash register which is one of the reasons I like shopping at night.

Have you wondered what they are doing when they are supposed to be disinfecting the store at night? Are they spraying the fresh foods with whatever they are using for a disinfectant? Or is the disinfectant just drifting over onto the fresh foods as they walk by, if they are really even doing any disinfecting. Will there be a rash of people dying in the years to come from the chemicals in the disinfectants? I guess you want to be sure and wash you fruits and veggies really well.

I'm going to be very disappointed if they don't have any of the big bags of M&M's or any nuts. After all I'm risking my life to make a run for M&M's.

I'm pretty sure I used up all the contamination suits I had years ago but I guess I could make one out of my coveralls and I do have either the plastic face shields/guards or I could use my welding helmet. I have some gloves like the doctors use but I'm thinking maybe I should use something heavier like thick acid proof rubber gloves with the long gauntlets. Of course I will wear my tall rubber boots and tie the legs of my coveralls tightly to the boots. Don't want any virus sneaking up my leg... I guess I will have to use a plastic trash bag to cover the rest of my head as the welding helmet only covers the front. I can make a hole just a bit smaller than my face and push my face through the hole stretching the plastic for an airtight seal. Hmmm. My helmet doesn't have a respirator... I will have to use my respirator for use with chemicals... The one make of black rubber with the cartridges on either side of the exhaust vent in the front. Hmmm, might be a tight fit under the welding helmet. Might need use either the chemical splash safe goggles or maybe my acetylene welding goggles instead of the helmet. Maybe I should just cut eye and nose holes in the plastic bag so I can avoid contamination on my face around the goggles and respirator.

I must like M&M's an awful lot...

I think at the very least you should receive a commission from M&Ms to help fill the pay gap while you're not working. You could also give out advice on safety wear, and hire some of your own stuff out?

    I hope you're well McTickle!
Now we are talking... I'd gladly take a commission from M&M's paid in product! Ha ha, advice on how to use what you have on hand to get the job done... Hmmm, maybe I could hire my services out disinfecting places... I would use only the consumption safe alcohol so it would be non toxic. Of course that does create certain risks... Like inebriation.... And most dangerously a serious fire hazard... I can envision a scene where I'm all suited up and using my garden pump up sprayer filled with what ever alcohol was available at the time... Jack Daniels, Vodka, Tequila because you know the regular bottled alcohol is gone from the shelves, and I shuffle my feet just enough to generate a static electric arc... the next thing you know I'm engulfed in barely visible blue flames and I start to sense a rise in temperature... realizing the severity of the situation I find myself in I immediately toss the sprayer away out of the flame zone and turn to run away while reaching to the valve on the oxygen to cut of the flow of my breathing gasses before they feed the flames in an explosive fashion... running as i get clear of the flames from the decontamination zone I "stop drop and roll" to keep my outfit from going up in flames. Then realizing the place is going up in flames I run over and grab the fire extinguisher from the wall and turn it loose on the base of the flames... Which is everywhere as, well, you know I was spraying everything to kill the virus. So of course the extinguisher soon runs out of the dry chemicals which are leaving yellow powder everywhere... At least yellow is my favorite color.. So spent extinguisher tossed aside I run for the basement and grab my trusty garden hose that i have hooked up just inside the basement exterior door for those $#&@ stupid emergencies.. Just in case... And run back up the stairs spraying as I go to keep my exit path free of flames, always thinking ahead, and as I turn the corner into the living room I open up with a full force spray of water on the area and quickly put the flames out. Thinking to myself...whew, damn good thing I decided to try this out at my home first! I would have been so embarrassed if I had done this at some business or someones home first and this happened.

I can't speak for every store chain, but my store hired a third party just to clean and disinfect all night. There is a crew of people who wipe down all common used surfaces, as many as possible dayside as well. The day crew is wiping my office down hourly.... Door handles, tech gadgets, copiers, phones....
That's a good practice for public places. Glad to see people are taking it seriously. It will at least minimize the spread.

I saw peanuts at the store, didn't look for m&ms. Spaghetti sauce? The only spaghetti I saw was organic. I did pick up a box of pasta shells. It's kinda hit and miss here. I'm sure over time the stores will catch up and the initial panic will subside.
Yeah, peanuts would be good...I haven't had any goobers in a long time. I may have to resort to ordering the M&M's from Amazon if they don't have them at the store. They had even bigger packages when I looked there. I would be so pissed if someone stole my box of M&M's off my porch. If I'm not off working somewhere I might have to set on the porch with my side by side 12 gauge with rocksalt just in case.

My Daughter has been telling me the shelves have been pretty bare here when she has been shopping and the toilet paper disappears as soon as it gets put up. . But I've got that situation all washed up so to speak.

The governor closed all the rest stops here in the state and from what i saw apparently the truckers are finding it difficult to get anything to eat. Oh well I guess if they can't eat they won't need to shit, must be what the Governors are thinking! Places have been closed or only offering take out that they have to call in to order etc. Seems like truck stops should be on the essential workers list.

I've only got two jars of spaghetti sauce left... Hmmm, I wonder if Amazon has that? I can see it now... A package with a soggy red bottom and the sound of broken glass when I pick the box up.

I suppose they will get restocked eventually if people calm down.... And the truckers don't all crash from lack of food or get arrested for indecent exposure by all the bored cops.

Peanut M&Ms would cover both cravings. If you can find them - the toffee M&Ms are mmmm. Go to the store when it opens - just move ahead of the seniors, they understand an M&M emergency.
I was thinking that too with the peanut M&M's. I've never tried the toffee ones...not sure if I even like toffee. Seems like I remember it making my teeth stick together which I found to be very annoying. Can't seem to remember what it tasted like it's been so long since I tried it.

Well I am qualified to be shopping with the seniors and compromised individuals due to some health issues but I would have to get up early and I don't get to sleep till late if at all. I guess I could go over in zombie mode with my outfit on. Maybe I should add my oxygen tank from my welding outfit to keep people away.... Far far away..

I've been buying them in the big bag or in a plastic container so it shouldn't be too hard. If you were referring to my other nuts, well that are already bagged...

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Hmmm. I may have to use this outfit for work too. Though I haven't heard back from the state yet as to whether they are going to consider my work as essential or not. Which is kind of a fucked up situation as this state doesn't consider self employed people as eligible for unemployment benefits.

Decide I would wear the goggles and respirator with the plastic face shields over the plastic trash bag with the holes...

Plain, peanut, peanut butter, caramel or what kind...or whatever's left if there are any.
