OK, so any time I've ever seen one of these used, it's definitely not the only weight-bearing point. There's a chest harness involved that would take the majority of the weight, with just enough on the hook (so to speak-- hee!) that you'd be able to feel it. You'd probably give it its own attachment point to the main suspension ring so that you could adjust the tension, but you certainly wouldn't be suspended by your bum. Ow. Just thinking about that makes me walk a little funny.

partnrsncrime625 is correct...these are not for weight bearing - certainly not the primary weight bearing point. They may have a certain amount of tension as a reminder you are restrained anally.Never used them, have seen them used on a number of subs. Useful for creating that no-win situation - any movement will result in pressure and discomfort for the sub.

I have had one of those stuck up my ass, just for the hell of it. No I was not suspended at the time. I've had other stuff up my ass, all more preferable to a steel hook. Feels wierd. Having had one in me I would never let myself be suspended with that inside me. Let's get crazy together.
