This expression is thought to be about machine gun belt lengths or some other silly nonsense....the truth be told.
The average male penis is known to be 6 inches, The average woman requires 54 SLOW strokes to be satisfied.
54 strokes at 6 inches each is 27 ft....27 ft is equal to 9 yards. SO guys if your not giving the WHOLE NINE YARDS.....she aint satisfied...

 My understanding is that "the whole nine yards" refers to the amount of cloth required to make a wedding dress suitable for a noble woman back in the days when nobility were actual rulers in most countries rather than just traditional titles.

That's funny about the number of strokes. Maybe I'll count how long my wife takes some time. But the strokes aren't usually all the way in to all the way out anyway, so the distance wouldn't be six inches per in-stroke or out-stroke.
