How Could She Know?

A simple TV mystery
An extra without history
Her moment on the set so unimportant.

How could she know,
She stole the show?
I watched her walking up behind the lead

She was so hot
Forget the plot
I played the moment back - oh shame indeed!

But was she trying?
No use denying
Directors watch these scenes for future casting

But did she sense
Quite how intense
And how my warm response would be so lasting?

Simply dressed
Could she have guessed
I'd watch her swaying hips time and again?

The way she moves
I say it proves
That lust is something mainly in the brain.

And for anyone writing serious poetry who has suffered my well intended critiques in the past - forgive me, I sat down to write about seeing this extra on TV and wondering why I was so turned on when she wasn't being overtly or deliberately sexy and had nothing whatsoever to do with the story, and it just came out this way! No pretention toward literary verse of any kind intended

In case there are words missing. Yeah, that's right! It surprised me though because there was nothing obvious about her to make me take interest - just one of those weird clicks.......

I don't think an 'extra' has ever caught my eye but I've definitely preferred supporting actors over the star.

As for your poetry .... I'm going to give you a "Pass" cuz it's better than most around here. It could've used one more verse but I don't think even I could've rhymed "important"

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Ha ha! Well obviously I could have re-written the first verse (which I think I actually wrote last) so as to avoid the unrhymable "unimportant" and therefore be able to fit in an extra, second verse to rhyme with it, but like I said, I wasn't intending to write a poem, it just came out that way so I ran with it. But thanks for the pass lol.

But maybe we can rhyme "unimportant"...........

What about,

"She caused a massive issue
And made me need a tissue
But thankfully I found one that's absorbent." Would that do?

That does quite well. Bravo!

OMG! i did the exact same thing with some random movie that i watched that i heard was popular with all the women (whoever they are, they've got terrible taste!) The lead guy was a dancer. He and a whole bunch of other men danced with their shirts off, and they were all super hot. EXCEPT that - i wasn't impressed with ANY of the lead men - it was just one of the dancers way in the back, who didn't have any significant part -- he caught my eye. And i hunted him down. I found a whole series that he was in, in which he WAS the lead!

So, even though that movie was a total dud, in my opinion, i found a man worth looking at among the extras! lol

But he didn't inspire a poem...

"Do not put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket"

You are right - that it an occupational hazard. Thankfully this one disappeared into a building and was never seen again. Apart from by me on replay, lol.

That makes me feel much better - I thought I was the only one who was stalking extras! Only there was really no way of finding this one I don't think, lol.
